Dark Chocolate Banana Cake

This practical and healthy cake, whose main ingredients are banana and chocolate, takes banana, one of the most special fruits of the winter season, to a different level. It is also extremely practical as it does not require oven or cooking. Enjoy your meal!

In a Nutshell:

Ingredients:

For: 4 People
Prep: 15 Min
Chocolate 1 (Bitter) 200   Grams
Banana (Medium size) 4   Qty
Vanilla Extract 1   Tbsp
Cinnamon Powder 1   Half Tbsp
Nutmeg Grated 1   Tsp
Fine Salt 1/2   Tsp

Steps:

  1. Break the chocolate tablets into small pieces with your hands and place them in a glass bowl. Fill a saucepan suitable for the size of the glass bowl halfway with water and boil it. Place the glass bowl in boiling water and stir constantly to melt the chocolates (Bain-marie method).
  2. On the other hand, peel the bananas and reserve 1/2 banana (if you are going to use bananas for decoration). Mash the bananas with a masher or fork until they become creamy. A few large pieces may remain. This will add richness to the texture of the cake.
  3. Add crushed bananas to the melted chocolate and mix well until it becomes homogeneous.
  4. Add vanilla syrup, cinnamon, salt and nutmeg to the mixture and mix.
  5. On the other hand, cut off the corners and place baking paper on a small square glass tray.
  6. Pour the mixture into a glass mold and smooth the top with a spatula. When it reaches room temperature, cover it with stretch wrap and put it in the refrigerator. Let the mixture rest for at least 4-5 hours to solidify.
  7. During the serving phase, take your cake out of the fridge and turn it upside down onto a serving plate. Lift the baking paper by gently pulling it. Decorate it with banana slices or forest fruits if you wish, slice it and serve cold. Enjoy your meal!
