Flaxseed Green Salad

Seasonal greens, arugula, onions, citrus juices, extra virgin olive oil and flaxseed. This salad, which is a complete source of vitamins, minerals and omega-3s, is mostly preferred at fish tables. Enjoy your meal!

Curly Lettuce 1/2   Qty
Head Lettuce 1/2   Qty
Flaxseed 1   Tbsp
Arugula 1/4   Bunch
Fresh Onion 1/2   Bunch
Red Onion 1/2   Qty
Ingredients for Sauce:
Lemon Juice 1/2   Half Cup
Orange Juice 1/2   Half Cup
Olive Oil 1/2   Half Cup
Salt 1   Tsp (large)
Grain Black Pepper (Freshly Ground) 1   Tsp
Sumac 1   Tsp
Flaxseed 1   Tsp (large)

Steps:

  1. Wash the greens and soak them in vinegar water for 10 minutes.
  2. Peel the purple onion and cut it in half first. Then chop into half rings and finely.
  3. Pour a pinch of salt over the onions, rub them lightly and rinse them.
  4. Finely chop the spring onions. Rinse and drain the lettuce, then cut into large pieces with your hands.
  5. For the sauce, mix the freshly squeezed lemon juice, orange juice, olive oil, flaxseed, sumac, salt and pepper in a bowl and make them homogeneous.
  6. Blend the greens, onions and a teaspoon of flaxseed with your hands without damaging them.
  7. Take your salad in a large serving bowl. Before bringing it to the table, pour the sauce you prepared on it and serve. Enjoy your meal!
  8. Note: Add the sauce just before serving to prevent the salt from wilting the greens. For a lighter salad, you can use mayonnaise thinned with lemon juice instead of olive oil.
