It is rumored that Hasselbeck potatoes, which have recently become very famous in Turkey under the name "fan potatoes", were created by Leif Elisson, a trainee chef at the Hasselbacken restaurant in Stockholm in the 1950s. It is essentially a spiced and baked potato, but it gets its special name from the way it is chopped and is served as an elegant side dish at meat or fish tables. Enjoy your meal!
To ensure that the potatoes lie flat on the tray, remove 2 mm slices from one side. Place a wooden spoon or chopstick on each side of the potatoes and make slits in the potato about 2 mm apart. Make sure the knife does not cut all the way through the potato.
Put the oil and butter in a pan and heat it. Peel and crush the garlic. Finely chop the fresh rosemary and add it to the pan. Sauté together for 1-2 minutes and turn off the heat.
Preheat your oven to 200 degrees. Using a brush, grease the potatoes with spicy oil, reaching between the slices, and sprinkle salt and black pepper on them to taste.
Place the potatoes in the preheated oven and bake for 60-70 minutes until tender. Brush the potatoes with spicy oil 2-3 times during cooking.
Drink the top. Chop the green stem parts of the spring onions as finely as possible. Melt the butter in a separate pan, turn the onions slightly and turn off the heat. Add cheese, garlic powder and mix.
Take the cooked and soft potatoes out of the oven and serve hot with onion and cheese sauce on top. Enjoy your meal!
