Meaty Cabbage Wrap Recipe

Meaty Cabbage Wrap

Hot wraps, which are preferred as the main course in Turkish cuisine, are made by wrapping the raw stuffing with minced meat on leafy vegetables and served with garlic yoghurt. Stuffed with minced meat (meat) made from cabbage, which is an extremely healthy vegetable, is also one of the most preferred classic Turkish dishes in winter. Enjoy your meal!

Ingredients:

For: 6 People
Prep: 45 Min
Cook: 30 Min
White Cabbage (Leaf Parts) 1   Qty
Ground Beef (Medium Fat) 250   Grams
Dry Onion (Medium size) 2   Qty
Garlic 1   Clove
Broken Rice 1   Half Cup
Hot Pepper Sauce 1   Tsp (large)
Tomato Paste 1   Tbsp
Tomato (Mature Medium) 1   Qty
Parsley 1/2   Bunch
Salt 1   Tsp (large)
Black Pepper 1   Tsp
Dried Mint 1   Tsp
Butter (Or Margarine) 1   Tbsp

Steps:

  1. Separate the leaf parts of the cabbage suitable for wrapping and remove the root and thick veins. Boil for 3-4 minutes in a deep pot and rinse with cold water.
  2. For the stuffing, add the grated onion, washed rice, finely chopped tomatoes and chopped parsley to the minced meat. Add the spices and salt and mix.
  3. Drain the cabbage leaves and cut into palm-sized pieces. Put a teaspoon of minced meat in the middle and wrap them without squeezing too much. In the meantime, place the remaining pieces of cabbage and parsley stalks at the bottom of the pot where you will cook the wraps.
  4. Arrange the wraps in your stuffed pot so that there are no gaps. Melt the 1 tablespoon of tomato paste you have reserved with 1 glass of hot water and pour it over the wraps.
  5. Finally, add the butter in small pieces and cover a plate and cook on low heat for 1/2 hour.
  6. Take the cooked wraps off the heat, remove the plate and let them rest for 10 minutes with the lid closed.
  7. You can serve the warmed wraps plain, or you can serve them with pepper butter sauce by putting a spoonful of garlic yoghurt on them according to the classical method. Enjoy your meal!
