Mince Lentil Dinner

Mince Lentil Dinner is one of the classic and satisfying dishes of Turkish cuisine. This delicious food, which is formed by the combination of green lentils, ground beef and spices, is usually consumed hot. It appeals to every palate with its practical preparation and economic. Steps:

  1. Rinse the lentils, leave them in warm water for half an hour and pre-boil for 10 minutes in plenty of water.
  2. Peel the onion and garlic and cut into cubes. Cut the peppers in half, remove the seeds and chop them. Peel the tomatoes and cut them into the same size.
  3. Put the lentils in a strainer and rinse them. Pre-boiling prevents the lentils from foaming and turning black.
  4. When the oil in the pan is hot, add the onion and garlic and fry until they turn pink.
  5. When the onions turn pink, add the minced meat. Fry the minced meat until it turns brown. You can add half a tea glass of water at this stage to prevent the ground beef from clumping.
  6. Add the tomato paste to the roasted ground beef and fry for a minute or two until the raw smell is gone. At this stage, add salt and spices and flavor it,
  7. Take the lentils you have drained and mix them for a few minutes. Add enough hot water to cover the food by three or four inches and close the lid.
  8. Cook your food on medium heat until the lentils are soft. Add butter in the last five minutes.
  9. Take your cooked food from the fire, let it rest for ten minutes and serve it hot. Bon appetit!
