The Goralı family, who immigrated to Turkey from the Gora region of Kosovo in the 1950s, brings us this flavor. We meet Moroccan food before there are chain markets yet, in the small kiosk in Fındıkzade. Gora, which is now an indispensable part of our street tastes, brings together delicious sausages cooked in a delicious tomato sauce and American salad, and a delicious sandwich comes out between fresh baguettes. Enjoy your meal!
Since the sausages need to be cooked in tomato sauce for at least 35-40 minutes, tomato sauce must be prepared first. For this, pour 1 teaspoon of oil in a suitable pan and heat it. Add the butter and melt it.
In the butter melted over medium heat, first turn the crushed garlic a turn or two. Add the tomato paste and simmer until it smells like ezme.
Make two longitudinal lines on the sausages with a knife. Take it in the pan and turn it together for 1-2 minutes. Add the tomato puree, add salt, pepper, sugar and 2 glasses of hot water, mix for one turn, close the lid and let it cook on low heat.
In the meantime, if you are going to prepare it at home, prepare the american (russian) salad and cool it. Finely chop the pickled cucumbers lengthwise.
During the serving stage, cut the fresh baguettes in half without separating them completely, and if you wish, remove the inner parts from the middle and separate them.
Open the baguettes and press them on the boiling sausages so that they are lightly covered with the sauce. Divide the American salad into sandwiches and place one of the cooked sausages on them.
Finally, drizzle tomato sauce between the sandwiches, place the slices of pickled cucumbers, close them and serve without waiting. Enjoy your meal!
Note: In the old original recipes, a special mashed potato, special meatballs, salami and tomato sauce were put on the sandwich, not an American salad.
