Potato with peas is a very nutritious, economical and delicious hot vegetarian pot dish. On the side is plain rice pilaf with butter. This wonderful duo makes a hearty and nutritious complete main course. Enjoy your meal!
Peel the potatoes and carrots, cut them into large cubes, wash them and put them in a bowl of salted water.
Chop the onions into cubes. Take oil or olive oil in a flat pan and heat it. Add 1 tablespoon of butter. Fry the onions in the hot oil until they turn pink. At this stage, you can add 1 clove of crushed garlic if you wish.
Add the potatoes and carrots to the pinking onions and fry them together for 5 minutes. Add the tomato paste and turn it a few times.
Add salt, spices and broth to potatoes and carrots and cook for 15 minutes. Finally add the peas to the dish and cook together for another 15 minutes.
You can serve your meal, which you take from the stove and rest for 5 minutes, accompanied by plain rice pilaf or bulgur pilaf. Enjoy your meal!
