Nobody will say no to a delicious and enjoyable İskender Kebab in the comfort and hygiene of home. With this practical method, it is possible to make meat doner at home. This special kebab, served on fried pita, is served with roasted tomatoes, roasted peppers, yoghurt and fried butter. Bon Appetit!
If you have prepared it before, cut 250 g of your homemade frozen doner and take it, stretch the remaining part without thawing and put it in the deep freezer. You can also use the same amount of frozen beef doner kebab from a trusted brand.
Thaw the frozen doner until thinly sliced and chop it into leaf doner kebabs with a sharp knife. Melt the butter in the pan and arrange the cut doner kebabs so that they do not overlap. Fry one side for 8-10 seconds and transfer to a plate.
For the sauce, melt 2 tablespoons of butter, add the tomato paste and fry until their odor is gone. Add salt, pepper, sugar and 1 tablespoon of ketchup. Add 1/2 cup of hot water and boil on low heat for 5 minutes.
Chop the nail pitas into 2cmx2cm squares. Add a tablespoon of butter to the pan in which you fry the doner kebabs and heat it. Fry the pitas by turning them upside down in this oil.
Divide the peppers and tomatoes in 2 and roast them in a frying pan. Before serving, heat the butter you have reserved for the top of your kebab in a small sauce pot until it foams.
If available, heat metal or copper serving dishes in the oven. Arrange the fried pitas in a single layer under the serving plates and use half of the sauce to soak these pitas. Spread the cooked doner kebabs neatly on the pitas and drizzle tomato sauce. Put 2 tablespoons of yogurt on one side of the plate. Garnish with roasted tomatoes and peppers on the other side.
Finally, pour the butter you have heated on the plates and serve hot. Bon Appetit!
