Potato, as a nutritious root vegetable with plenty of starch, is one of the basic products used in many classic dishes of Turkish cuisine. Juicy potato with minced meat, one of the traditional pot dishes, is one of the most preferred dishes as a main course, especially in winter, as it is prepared easily and in a short time with simple ingredients. Enjoy your meal!
Peel the potatoes, rinse them and chop them coarsely. Put them in a bowl of water so that they do not darken.
Peel the onions and cut them in half. Chop the edible cubes.
Take oil in a medium saucepan and heat it. Add 1 tablespoon of butter and melt it.
Add the chopped onions and a finely chopped small clove of garlic to the oil and fry lightly over medium heat.
Add the minced meat to the fried onions. Fry the minced meat until it turns brown and the water is absorbed. Add salt, cumin and pepper at this stage. Add the tomato paste and turn it 3-4 times together until the raw smell comes out.
While the ground beef is roasting, turn it by crushing it with the back of a wooden spoon. If it gets lumpy, you can add 1/2 cup of hot water.
When it gets the consistency of the mortar, finally add the potatoes to the pot and turn it for 1-2 turns. Add enough hot water to cover the food by 3-4 fingers and cook for 10-15 minutes on low heat until the potatoes are soft and remove from the stove.
You can serve the cooked food hot by letting it rest for 4-5 minutes. Enjoy your meal!
Note: If you like it hot, you can add red pepper flakes to this dish and serve it with bulgur pilaf with vegetables.
