Walnut Flour Halva

One of the most famous Turkish cuisine, a sweet flour halva, which has been the subject of folk songs. It is both very economical and bakery, waiting, sherbet etc. Flour halvah, which you can handle in one pot and serve it instantly, is another stylish one with roasted walnuts and peanuts. Ingredients:

For 6 people
🕐 Preparation: 5 min.      🕐 Cooking: 15 min.
For the Halvah:
Flour (White) 2 Cup
Butter 250 Grams
Walnut 1 Half Cup
Liquid Oil 1 Half Cup
Pine Nut 1 Package
For the Sherbet:
Water 2 Cup
Milk 1 Cup
Lemon Juice (Fresh-squeezed) 1 Tsp (large)
Granulated Sugar 2 Cup
For the Service:
Walnut 1/2 Half Cup
Cinnamon Powder 1 Pinch

Instructions:

  1. Take 2 glasses of water, 1 glass of milk and 2 glasses of sugar in a small saucepan, mix and put on medium heat. When the sugar melts, take it off the heat and let it rest to cool.
  2. Melt the butter and oil in a wide rice cooker. Put the pine nuts and walnuts in a pan and fry them until they turn pink. Add the flour to the heated oil and fry it, stirring constantly, until it smells and turns a light brown color.
  3. Slowly add the warm syrup to the roasted flour. Be careful as it can bubble and splash.
  4. Stir the halva slowly so that it absorbs the syrup. Cover it with a clean cloth and let it brew for 20 minutes.
  5. Shape the brewed halva using 2 spoons while it is hot. Or straighten it on a tray and cut into slices and garnish with cinnamon and walnuts and serve warm or cold. Bon Appetit!
  6. Extract the walnuts and chop them finely (to the size of the teeth).
